Michael and
Nanci, celebrated
their twenty-eighth wedding anniversary
this past year. Being followers
of Christ, they recognize the
most important mission field for
them as parents, is their
children. Michael and Nanci's
prayer and purpose is to guide
their children to be truer to
the path Christ has laid before
them, than they themselves have
walked.
Ryan, age twenty-six, was homeschooled from seventh grade
through high school. He
graduated from State Fair
Community College in 2003 with a
degree in Information
Technology. Ryan is now employed
in the public sector as a Wide
Area Network Specialist. He has a
home-based computer building and
repair business and is also in
the process of learning
Whitetail taxidermy. In 2006,
Ryan purchased twenty acres of
land near where we live, which
he then, along with his Dad,
planted grass on. Ryan enjoys
spending time outdoors, working
on his land, hunting, and
playing his guitar. With the
ever increasing evolution vs.
creation debate that surrounds
us, he finds himself becoming
involved in ministry as a
researcher, defender and teacher
of the biblical account of
creation.
Sarah, age twenty-two, was homeschooled from fourth grade
until graduating in 2004. Sarah
has a love for children, and the
Lord opened the door a year and
a half ago for Sarah and her
sister, Leah, to begin a girls
group in our home. The purpose
of the group being to teach
young ladies homemaking skills
and the attributes that God
desires young ladies to have in
their lives. Sarah also has a
heart for music, playing the
piano, fiddle and the hammered
dulcimer. In 2005, she
established 'As Lilies Sewing',
which she invites you to
visit at
www.AsLiliesSewing.com;
a home based business of sewing
modest clothing for women and
young ladies. In addition to
this, Sarah also gives sewing
lessons, and she enjoys working
in her vegetable garden,
spending time outdoors,
quilting, cooking/baking and
helping with the rest of the
family's projects.
Leah, age twenty, has been homeschooled since second grade,
completing her 'formal'
schooling in February 2006. Leah
also expresses her love for and
to children through the girls
group that Sarah and she do
together. She greatly enjoys
music, and plays the piano,
fiddle, and guitar, and she is
the one that does much of the
arranging of the songs for us to
play. Leah is quite artistic and
combines these abilities with
the understanding of animal
conformation and form in
learning wildlife art in
taxidermy. She has been training
under her Dad, and she is now in
the process of establishing a
home-based taxidermy art business. Leah has
many interests such as spending
time outdoors, training her
golden retriever, Mandy,
cooking/baking, and
cross-stitch. Leah has also been
a great blessing to our family
in her designing, building, and
maintaining of all of our
websites.
*Sarah and Leah also have a
blog,
www.followinhissteps.blogspot.com,
that is for the purpose of
encouraging and exhorting young
ladies in their walk with the
Lord.
